How to Join the Farm Explorer Passport Program

Follow these simple steps to collect stamps and earn rewards while visiting local farmers markets.

Children & adults will enjoy traveling to 10 different Farm Markets in Frederick County, VA to explore the sweet tastes and excitement of agriculture. It's easy!  Just follow these steps:

Step 1

Pick Up Your Passport

Pick up your Farm Explorer at any of the 10 participating farmer's markets, Winchester Frederick County Visitors Center, or the Apple Blossom Festival Office.

Step 2

Farmer's Market Stamps

Visit all the farmer's markets and get your passport stamped to receive a prize. Adult & Kids Passports are available at every market & the Winchester Visitors Center.

Step 3

Buy Local

Discover local products like produce, meat, baked goods, pick you own, and taste beverages created from the fruits of our labor. Take in our unique scenery & explore what farming means in our community.

  • How do I get started with the Farm Explorer Passport?

    Pick up your passport at any participating farmers market or visit the Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center or the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival office. Then visit farms and markets to collect stamps.


    Each visit earns you a stamp, bringing you closer to rewards and prizes.

  • Are there any costs to join the program?

    Joining the Farm Explorer Passport program is free. You only pay for any purchases you make at the markets or farms you visit.

    No hidden fees or membership charges apply.

  • What types of prizes can I earn?

    There are prizes for the Farm Explorer Passport and the kids version, Lil Farm Explorer Passport. 

    Rewards vary by season, encouraging ongoing participation.

  • Can children participate in the passport program?

    Yes, the program is family-friendly and designed to engage visitors of all ages in exploring local agriculture.

    Children can collect stamps and learn about farming through interactive activities at many locations, and by completing the Lil Farm Explorer Passport.

  • How long is the passport valid?

    Each passport is valid for one growing season, normally April through December, allowing plenty of time to visit multiple farms.

    Check the year printed on the front cover of your passport to plan your visits accordingly.

  • Where can I find participating farms and markets?

    A full list of participating locations is available on our website and updated regularly to include new farms and markets.

  • What if I lose my passport?

    Visit the Winchester-Frederick County, VA Visitors Center, Apple Blossom Festival office or a participating farm or market to pick up a replacement. While stamps already collected cannot be transferred, we’ll help you continue your journey.
